Footprints Ministry was founded in 2005 and registered as an NPO 055-125 and a PBO 930042055. Elsa went to study after matric, and taught for 7 years, but felt very unfulfilled. She then joined the SAPS and worked at the Family Violence Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit for the next 18 years.
Whilst at the FCS Unit Elsa’s life was in turmoil and she realized that there was more need for a victim of sexual and domestic violence, than what was offered. Elsa realized a person needs to get whole. Footprints Ministry was founded. The Ministry then worked with victims of abuse and Domestic Violence. During holidays and weekends, Elsa's children went to their father. Elsa would be alone at home and during these times, she started spending time with the Homeless People in Florida.
Christmas 2004 she invited a Homeless couple, accompanied by their son, to her house for a Christmas Dinner. This was the beginning of the Ministry with the Homeless people. It just kept on growing and became one of the major components of the Ministry. Elsa then started qualifying herself for the Ministry she was bestowed with a Doctor degree through Team Impact Ministries, Baton Rouge, L.A, USA. T.I.M registration number is TIM1057.
